Emergency protection system ensures priority control of technological equipment to transfer process to a safe state (technological processes going beyond established limits, equipment failure, abnormal situations).

• collection and processing of information on parameters of technological process, state of equipment related to PAZ;

• recognition and signaling of emergency situations and process deviations from specified limits;

• automatic shutdown of technological complex (or individual equipment) in the event of deviation of parameters from specified limits, as well as shutdown by manual intervention of operator;

• alarm and notification management;

• blocking the restart of technological complex (or individual equipment) until the causes of shutdown are eliminated or forced unblocking is performed.

PAZ system can be implemented as technically separate system that is integrated into Distributed Control System (DCS) at middle control level, or as functionally integrated system into DCS at lower control level.
