The computer-based automatic crossing signaling system MAPS-TEG is a highly reliable automatic level crossing signaling system developed by the TEG Group of Companies. The system is built using highly reliable Siemens equipment. MAPS-TEG can be used on open line sections and stations with any type of traction, including high-speed traffic sections.
Principle of Operation
MAPS-TEG devices monitor the freeness of track sections in level crossing areas and provide control of light and sound crossing signaling, crossing obstruction devices, and train protecting light signals. Freeness determination is performed based on the axle counting principle using the latest generation of wheel sensors. The outdoor equipment is suitable for any ballast condition and rail type.
Level crossing signaling, prohibiting the passage of motor vehicles, activates immediately after the first wheel axle of the train passes sensor D1. The approach and crossing sections remain occupied until the number of axles that have passed sensor D1 matches the number that have passed sensor D3. In the opposite direction, occupancy is determined similarly, using information from sensors D2 and D4.

MAPS-TAG consists of an outdoor part, which includes crossing signals and train wheel detection devices, and indoor equipment housed in a container-type module next to the level crossing.

Composition of Outdoor Part
Wheel Detection Kit (KOK):
- Dual wheel detection sensor

The maximum distance of KOK from the MAPS-TEG indoor equipment module is 7 km without additional power supply. The wheel sensor is securely attached to the rail base with a special bracket or directly to the rail neck via a bolted connection. Track transceivers include a semi-automatic calibration system for adjusting equipment operation for specific conditions.
Composition of Indoor Part
- Control of KOK and processing data from track transceivers is managed by MCO counting modules in the MAPS-TEG module.
- Each MCO handles data from two sets of KOK. The number of MCOs is determined by the need for two sets of KOK wheel detection for each track direction in two- and multi-track crossings.

Interface Modules
Siemens SIMIS INOM2 modules form the main base of the ZAT Trans Engineering Group systems. MAPS-TEG can integrate with CBI-TEG and MPAB-TEG systems, establishing a secure and efficient environment for train traffic control. These modules link the vacancy determination subsystem with UVK MAPS and allow integration with relay-type interlocking and blocking systems.
Software
All application software (UVK, AWS, CAD) was developed by TEG specialists, ensuring prompt technical support and adaptability to special operating conditions. The software is protected from unauthorized access and meets information security standards.
